4 Leg Chain Sling Specifics
Just like the other chain slings we offer the chain diameter determines the safe working load. The smallest in our range is the 7mm chain which gives you a 3.15 ton limit. The largest we offer for online purchase is the 22mm diameter chain, giving you 31.5 tons of load lifting capacity.
Another useful option is a shortening clutch which enables the only safe way to shorten the length of your chain leg.
4 Leg Chain Sling Uses
A 4 leg chain sling offers the best stability for larger loads as they can be anchored to each corner. You should always ensure the hoist hook and sling master link is in line with the centre of gravity for optimum stability.
When this type of sling is used, each leg will create an angle with the master link at the top and the load at the bottom. You need to pay close attention to these angles because they will affect the safe working load of your sling, thus the safety of the load lift. You can find out which working load limit reductions apply to your lifting operation in the load slinging chart in the specifications tab above.

1, 2 and 3 leg chain slings are other options available for this type of lifting sling, but there are other slinging options.
