How to use a Geared Hoist Trolley

Less physical effort is required to move loads over a steel beam with a geared hoist trolley, when compared to a push travel trolley.

Once securely fitted to the beam, using the centre screw bar a simple pull on the chain will move it over the gear wheel which in turn will move the trolley and subsequently the hoist and attached load.

The screw bar which secures the trolley to the beam is also used to attach the lifting hoist. The suspension hook at the top of your hoist can be inserted into the loading eye on the bar. Due to its central location the eye will ensure the hoist is inline with the centre of gravity, thus ensuring good stability. Never attach your hoist immediately onto the screw bar, always use the loading eye.

With 5 working load limits up to 10000kg to choose from there is an option to suit the majority of applications. The trolley has a minimum breaking load strength of 4 times the maximum stated WLL and conforms to BS EN 13155.

The steel ball bearings in the wheels are high grade and ensure smooth travelling over the beam.

Drop forged steel is used for the screw bar for optimum strength and easy adjustments.

The gear wheels are toothed, allowing the chain to be pulled over whilst remaining connected to the gear teeth. There are two gears, one on the outside which has the chain running over it and one on the inside which is connected to the wheels. When the chain is pulled on the outer gear the inner gear will turn and propel the wheels to move the trolley.
