Atex L4 Ratchet Lever Hoist Safety

TO comply with the ATEX standards the L4 lever hoist incorporates copper plated components in order to prevent sparks. Hook bowls, load chain guides, chain stripper and grip rings are all spark resistant thanks to the quality copper plating. Thus this ratchet hoist is suitable in areas where sparks may be hazardous such as chemical factories, paint shops, oil refineries and more.

Other features which enhance safety include the twin pawls as standard, meaning double the safety. The hooks incorporate safety latches to ensure suspension and load safety. There is also the option to have an overload limited fitted on request.

These ratchet lever hoists are manufactured and proof tested in the UK. Complies with the Atex directive 2014/34/EU.

Other Atex L4 Lever Hoist Features

The design of the L4 ratchet hoist, like the majority of similar hoists uses a brake system to hold the load, however it also needs a load to operate correctly. Because of this you will find that there is a minimum load required in order for the brake system to operate appropriately. This L4 lever hoist has been tested to a light load of 2% of its rated capacity, BUT it is recommended not to use the hoist below 10% of the stated capacity to ensure optimum safety.

Additional corrosion protection is added to some internal parts. The hook housing secures with socket head screws and nyloc locking nuts to enable complete inspection.

The Atex L4 ratchet lever hoist can be used in fleeting or cross hauling operations up to 45 degrees from the vertical without the need to de-rate the hoist.

The load chain the L4 is supplied with as standard provides a 1.5 metre lifting height, other heights can be accommodated on request. The quality chain complies with international standards BS-EN818-7 Grade T(8).
