Key Features of the Liftket Star Electric Hoist
With a high duty cycle the Star Liftket hoist has high reliability, even in extreme temperatures. They will continue to operate well at temperatures down to -20 and up to +40 degrees Celsius.
When used at higher temperatures it is the fan cooled motor, complete with special cooling fins that enable the motor to be kept at the ambient temperature and not overheat. Additionally heat dissipation takes place due to the arrangement of clutch and brake system to keep the heat away from the motor.
Always pay close attention to the duty ratings of any electric hoist so that the hoist is not continuously used above the stated time without a break.
Lifting heights are flexible and up to 50 metres is possible. We can also supply this electric hoist complete with a beam trolley and has the options of a push travel or electric trolley.
A variety of voltages and frequencies are also available including; 230-575V & 50-60Hz.
Other features include 24V AC low voltage control, thermal motor protection and electric limit switches for lifting and lowering.
Rain covers are available and essential if the hoist is used outdoors.
Safety & Maintenance
Optimal safety is provided by the sliding clutch to which the system has been patented. The new coupling system ensures there is only a positive connection between the brake and load. This set up ensures the load will be held even if the coupling fails.
Contactors are used in the control of the hoist, therefore maintenance and repairs are more efficient. This is because individual contactors can be replaces separately. The modular design also means that the oil tight gear box, drive motor, brake and main motor can be replaced individually if necessary. If these components are swapped out the hoist will be ready for immediate use on completion. It is only when the clutch module is changed that load testing and clutch adjustment will be required before use.
All the necessary regulations, requirements and directives are met, the full list can be found in the operating manual download above.
Other Electric Hoists & Inspection Requirements
Lifting Hoists Direct are one of the UK’s top hoisting suppliers with a wealth of knowledge. We not only supply a wide range of electric hoist systems from leading manufacturers, we also offer a complete inspection and repair service as well as breakdown assistance. Electric hoists must be thoroughly inspected on a regular basis, typically on a yearly basis as standard, however it is sometimes prudent to shorten this time scale depending on how the hoist is used.
We have our own team of engineers with IPAF (International Powered Access Federation licences and LOLER accredited training.
