Its unique design ensures that at the slightest resistance the brake will auto-engage. Thus even the lightest loads can be lifted and lowered without any slippage. The two stage process protects against accidental light load failures. In fact the PROLH ratchet hoist guarantees light load protection at just 2% of the rated capacity.
