Delta DY Chain Block Features
The Delta DY manual chain block has been designed to be maintenance friendly. With the brake and transmission components being easy to access if required.
Smooth operation is provided by the high quality ball bearings, precision machined shafts, chain sprocket and gears. What’s more, the highly robust outer casing can withstand external shocks without causing bearing alignment damage. Whilst also offering protection against dust and water ingress.
The load brake is automatic, it is applied as soon as the load chain is released. Meaning that the load will always be held in place. Twin friction discs and quality pawls are incorporated into the brake design.
When it comes to the hooks both suspension hook and load hook are the safety type. Incorporating sprung safety latches to ensure the hoist or load stays put. They have been drop forged for strength and durability with cast latches and also incorporate measuring points on the hooks.
When it comes to the temperatures in which the hoist can be used safely the range is good. From minus 10 to plus 60 degrees Celsius is allowed.
Using the Delta Manual Chain Hoist
You can use this hoist straight out of the box thanks to being pre-chained to the height of lift requested. As they are easy to operate you will be lifting loads within minutes.
You should always read the instruction manual prior to use to familiarise yourself with the new product. Always attach the block to a suitable anchor point that is able to withstand the load and forces that will be implied.
Always ensure the load is directly inline with the top hook and does not pull to the side.
Prior to each use the block should be checked over for any issues which may affect the safety of the device and carry out a test lift to ensure smooth chaining and braking is working as it should. Keep the chain lubricated.
Should you need help with your manual chain hoist or require spare parts, we usually keep them in stock and have qualified engineers if needed.
Other Useful Equipment
It is common to use supplementary equipment when using any type of lifting hoist, electric or manual and this is no exception. Lifting slings to help secure the load to the bottom hook are common place. Shackles are frequently used to connect multiple items and sometimes a lifting clamp would be useful depending on the type of load to be lifted.
