Kito EQ Electric Hoist & EQS Electric Hoist Differences
With the Kito EQ electric hoist range there are a few key differences between the EQ and the EQS hoists. Firstly the power supply needed to operate the hoists is different.
The Kito EQ hoist runs with a 3 phase power supply whilst the EQS runs from a standard 240v power supply. Therefore the EQ would be more suitable to industrial settings with this power supply whilst the EQS can be operated anywhere with a standard domestic electric supply.
Other differences include the load capacities; 125kg, 250kg, 500kg & 1000kg are options for the EQ. However there are only two options for the EQS which are 500kg and 1000kg.
The single phase EQS works equally as good as the EQ basic model though will probably be best used in different situations. For example the EQ would suit industrial environments, production facilities, assembly lines, maintenance services, plant engineering and more. The EQS on the other hand would would be of benefit in workshops, construction sites, production facilities, agriculture, sewage industries, maintenance & technical inspections, domestic lifting tasks and many more.
The only other real difference between the two hoists is that the EQS can not be used with the powered trolley option, only the standard push trolley.
Key Features of the Kito EQ Electric Hoist
This electric chain hoist is quite compact in design and is also lighter in weight than other Kito hoists like the ER model. One of the main beneficial components is the frequency inverter which comes as standard in either hoist. Thanks to the inverter the hoist boasts precise load positioning, high & low speeds with adjustable control, increased safety and helps to prevent swinging loads. Start up operation is smooth. Low speed stops are improved. The lifting speed is 1.3 x faster. ( when you are lifting a lighter load (less than 30% of a full load).)
The frequency inverter controls the electronic overload protection and the long life friction clutch provides the mechanical overload protection. So with double the protection together with the pull-rotor brake this really is a safe and reliable hoist. An additional safety benefit is the operating hours /load cycle counter to ensure the hoist is not overused.

Kito EQ Electric Hoist Series Options
The Kito EQ electric hoist and EQS hoists come with an eye suspension as standard. However there is an option to have a top hook instead if this would suit your operation better. There are two trolley options to choose from; a standard push trolley and a motorised trolley. These trolleys have an enclosed profile and thanks to the low headroom design of the standard eye suspension the trolley’s are easy to fit. Please note that the motor trolley option is only available for use with the EQ hoist NOT the EQS.
Conclusion
As you can see the Kito EQ and EQS electric chain hoists offer a versatile lifting system with a range of options to suit your requirements. There are some other Kito electric hoists available here at Lifting Hoists Direct including the ED and the ED with tool handling manipulator attachment. There is also the ER hoist system which can handle loads up to 20000kg.
