About the Corrosion Resistant Chain Block – Tiger SS20
Available in a wide range of lifting capacities from half a tonne up to 30 tonnes. This hoist has been rigorously tested independently and verified for a multi-immersion period of 54 days providing the strict requirements are met. Internal testing on components also ensures up to 1500 hours protection to ASTM B117 (salt) conditions. DNV GL verification tested to NORSOK R-002.
The double finish on the body ensures optimum corrosion protection. An electro-plated base layer is topped off with a textured powder coating which is very hard wearing in nature, thus offering a longer life.
In addition key internal components are protected with a unique formulation for unprecedented protection.
Other Key Features of the Tiger SS20 Chain Block for Marine Use
- Phosphor bronze bearings for optimum corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
- Covers on the ratchet brake and chain wheel cover give protection to the brake chamber.
- Superior brake efficiency thanks to the 8 point multi-start pinion to double the lead distance. (typical systems use a 4 point system).
- Quad cam pawl brake system for guaranteed load safety.
- Bonded marine friction discs (asbestos free). Grooves in the discs help to disperse salt water from surface, thus eliminating aquaplaning failure.
- Chain end stops.
- Certified for cross-hauling/fleeting up to 60 degrees from vertical (no de-ration required)
- Recessed forgings on the hook yoke for optimum protection to load chain anchor bolts.
- EZ check safety hooks, fully corrosion protected.
- Innovative chain carrier bag on request (optional extra) Flexible PVC on a stainless frame complete with drain holes. These keep chain safe from snagging during operation.
Other features and benefits can be found in the documentation above.
Other Corrosion Protected Hoists
There are a number of hoisting options available with corrosion protection but are not necessarily suitable for sub-sea applications such as the Yale corrosion resistant chain block and trolley so check carefully before purchase.
We have a dedicated category to sub sea hoists where you will find chain blocks and ratchet lever hoists suitable for use fully submersed. Also included in this category are a couple of ROV (remotely operated vehicle) compatible hoists.
