Versatility of the Demag DC-COM Hoist
There are 2 hoisting speeds for each model in the Demag DC COM hoist range. The top speed is 9.6 metres per minute and 1.2 m/min is the slowest. Although speeds vary across models so be sure to check out the specifications. The choice of speeds enables more control over your load. Consequently this is great for more delicate loads as it allows slower, smoother movements. Push travel or powered trolleys can be used with the DC-COM with an easy plug and play interface for ease of connections.
The low voltage (24v) push button control pendant can be adjusted to suit your height requirements. Therefore it will depend on the operator and/or the location in which it is used. No wiring is required for this.
Limit switches are optional up to 1000kg but these can further enhance the versatility of the hoist. There are also suspension options in the form of a hook or a lug, and a 4 meter hook path comes as standard.
Safety, Performance & Reliability
Safety and reliability as well as performance are key factors to consider when choosing an electric hoist. The Demag DC-COM if bountiful in both areas. The high performance motor boasts large safety reserves to ensure reliability for a good many years. It can be used for switching cycles that are beyond the normal market levels.
Swaying loads can be dangerous but the DC-COM minimises this with its smooth cross travel start and brake motions. Speeds and acceleration can be controlled via the pendant . Therefore it is easy to operate.
The brake on the DC-COM hoist is positioned in front of the slip clutch consequently giving it a high level of safety. The load will be held in all situations thanks to this arrangement. More importantly the slipping clutch also gives reliable protection against overloading.
Monitoring of contactor cycles, operating hours and maintenance can all be monitored from the shop floor so its easy to keep an eye on things. The housing is powder coated for excellent surface protection and has an IP55 rated enclosure.
Servicing and Maintaining the DC COM electric hoist
Servicing is made easier thanks to the service cover which gives easy access to the chain lubrication port, electrical connections and the pendant adjustment facility, unused pendant cable length is also stored here.
This hoist has a long service life thanks to a number of components. The gearbox is suitable for demanding applications and is maintenance free for up to 10 years. All the sub assemblies are highly rated for a long service lift too. The chain drive is easy to replace without removing the motor or gear parts. It is useable, reliably in temperatures ranging from -20 to +45 degrees C without reductions needed to the duty factor.
All safety related functions fulfil at least level C performance and cat. 2 to EN ISO 13849-1 standards.
Always follow the safe use of lifting equipment guidelines.
