About the Kito ED Electric Hoist
First lets look at the Kito ED electric hoist; we will cover the EDC bench hoist later on.
The ED hoist is compact in design, lightweight and fast. It is ready to use straight from the bow and can be quickly deployed to where it is needed. It uses 220-240v power, therefore it can be plugged into a wall socket with this supply. Which means it can be used in most places, they are particularly ideal in smaller workshops and storage facilities. Although they have many other areas of use.
The lifting capacity of the Kito ED electric chain hoist ranges from 60kg up to 240kg in its standard format. However loads of up to 480kg can be handled with the addition of an upgrade kit which includes higher grade hooks, lower block and double chain fall.
There are two types of speed options with the ED; the single speed option and the dual speed option. Maximum lifting speeds are 20 meters per minute for the smallest model and around 6.4 m/min for the upgraded 480kg model. With the dual speed option slower speeds are enabled to allow better precision and control of delicate loads.

The Kito EDC Electric Hoist Option
Now we will take a look at the Kito EDC electric hoist. As mentioned before this is the Kito ED hoist with the addition of a tool handling device. These tool handling devices are indispensable when it comes to repetitive tasks. The tool module contains a potentiometer in the lower cylinder portion to enable speed adjustments. It is also possible to vary the pre-set speed in order to optimize the processes you are working with.
One of the main benefits to this tool handler is that it can be fully manipulated by one hand. Leaving the other hand free to work with the other components needed to complete the task at hand. It has a 1.8 meter lifting height for ergonomic reasons.
The lower, load hook comes with a safety catch as standard. However this is really easy to remove thanks to the bayonet type fitting in order to for a different type of manipulating tool to be attached (not included).
Lifting Hoists Direct can supply similar tool handling hoists such as the Demag manulift pro electric hoist, there is also a couple of air powered hoists with this tool handling feature. You will also find other types of hoists by Japanese brand Kito including chain blocks and lever hoists.
