About the L4 Heavy Duty Lever Hoist
The L4 heavy duty lever hoist offers a standard twin pawl design. Consequently doubling the safety and together with its other safety features including overload indicator marks, safety latched hooks this is a great ratchet hoist suitable for use for the most arduous tasks. There are some other optional safety features that can be added to further enhance its safety, these include an overload limiting device, top & bottom hook adaptors and a travelling end stop.
The L4 hoist has been tested for light load capacity to 2% of its rated capacity. Both the upper and lower hooks incorporate overload indicator markings which are located at either side of the hook’s throat. Stretching that is caused by overloading can be easily checked before and after each use by simply measuring the distance between the marks. If any stretch is noted then the hoist should be taken out of commission until thoroughly checked.
Fleeting or cross hauling can be carried out up to 45 degrees from vertical with no de-ration required. All hoists are proof tested to 1.5 x the Working Load Limit
for assured safety.

The Hacketts L4 heavy duty ratchet hoist is easy to mount and operate. There is a 3 position selector to choose between up, down and neutral/free chaining modes. In free chaining mode the chain can be pulled through to speed up load attachment, this feature can also be aided by turning the hand wheel in the correct direction, clockwise to raise or shorten and counter clockwise to lower or lengthen the chain.
You should always check over and test the hoist unloaded prior to use to ensure it is fit for purpose and operating correctly. Thorough inspections are required on a yearly basis, or more frequent depending on the frequency and way it is used. Always stick to the manufacturers guidelines, they are there for a reason!
