About the Tiger SS19 subsea lever hoist
The Tiger SS19 subsea lever hoist has been fully tested beyond the requirements required (ASTM B117 and more). Tested for over 1300 hours continuously in a subsea environment. Usage and operating procedures are set out in the manual supplied with the hoist. These should be strictly adhered to because of the nature of the environment in which they are to be used.
These lever hoist are used by fishermen, recovery vessels, rescue vessels and other sea faring operations. The marine environment is a harsh one because of the briny and wet conditions. Therefore the equipment used will need to be able to withstand these conditions.
The Tiger subsea SSII lever hoist is ideal for many lifting and pulling tasks in these areas.
Key elements of the Subsea SS19 Ratchet Lever Hoist
Both the top and bottom hooks on the SSII incorporate safety latches. However it is possible to change these fittings for different connectors as shown to facilitate the attachment of various tools.
The brake system is second to none, and boasts a quad pawl system to ensure at least 1 pawl is always engaged. Therefore is one pawl spring fails the load will still be held securely. Bonded marine friction discs are used (asbestos free) and the brake system uses a unique, inertia driven torsion switch brake.
Further more the hoist boasts an eight part multi-start thread pinion shaft which increases the brakes reaction time. Rotational brake engagement works in tandem with the load sheave direction giving up to 50% high brake ratios (if compared with a 4 point pinion model)
Additionally this hoist has a light load protection system which puts the hoist into neutral if the load is under 2% of its rated lifting capacity.
All in all this hoist is extremely safe so you can use with confidence.

Other Hoists for Subsea Use
Lifting Hoists Direct can supply a range of other hoisting devices which are suitable for use in sub sea environments. The Tiger ROV chain block works well with a Remotely Operated Vehicle and can handle loads up to 20 tonnes. We also have the Hacketts SSL5 subsea lever hoist with up to 10 tonne capabilities.
