Using Collared Eye Bolts Safely
As with our other Metric and BSW collared eye bolts these UNC eye bolts must be used with the same, matching threaded hole. This is to ensure the bolt anchors tightly and thus securely. Should you put a UNC bolt into a metric threaded hole for example then major issues could occur.
It is possible to use collared eye bolts in angled lifting tasks, where the attached sling pulls slightly to the side. This is typical when two eye bolts are used with the slings connected into a top master-link and subsequently to a hoists’ load hook. Where the slings meet is the angle to be aware of and the safe slinging charts should be consulted because depending on the angle the working load limit must be altered accordingly. See the download chart in the specifications tab for examples.
In the specifications tab you will find the measurements for each part of the eye bolt along with the thread diameter and safe working load. So consult the table and find the best UNC collared eye bolt for your lifting application.
